Sometimes I run into a client that is just a real pain in the arse. Damn RANKED people. It's a bar/restaurant/lan party/gaming place. If they don't like THIS logo, I'm gonna SHOOT myself.
I think your second silhouette logo was awesome, I liked it best because it had a WoW character in it. I think the full graphic would have looked great on t-shirts, wall, menus etc. and then the lettering would have been just fine for business cards.
I've always wondered though, how does that process work? Do you get paid anything for the time you spent creating the logos for their consideration?
Is there a website we can look at for this restaurant? I'd like to see what they're about, because I'd love to go to a bar where I could play video games at my table.
Well... they didn't like my new ones either. I'm officially OFF this project. I got paid nothing because I'm quitting the project. I just can't work with these people if they are stuck on the "planet" idea. In my opinion, the globe is WAY to over used in logo design, and it says NOTHING about gaming. It's okay tho... I like the last logo I made and it will be a good portfolio piece.
They have no website yet, and I was gonna work on that as well, but I took a pass on that since we could not come up with a logo. They can get some hack to make the "planet" logo & website. If they are too stupid to know their own demographic then I don't want to work with them.
I agree with you on that. The "planet" / "firefox" thing is overdone. I think your ideas were stellar and like I said before; they are the far better choice (I see what you're saying about the hat/business card). It seems to me like this is some VC trying to gain money off a market he doesn't understand. Almost as if they are playing down the gaming aspect and focusing more on the bar/grill....certainly a bad idea....who needs another bar and grill?? haha
Marketing is something I've always wanted to do, just don't have the talent. I have the ideas...just not the talent to put it on paper.
