ZipperHeads

Took my computer in earlier this week to have a few issues dealt with. Got a call this morning saying the motherboard's pretty much toast. Since my PC's so damned old, it means I'm gonna have to get a whole new system. Good news is that I at least have a laptop to work on until then. Bad news is that the laptop kinda sucks for live and/or streaming video if it's not on YouTube. I'm gonna try to make the show tonight, but we'll see.

Anyway, now that I'm in the market for a new computer, I'm looking for suggestions. My first choice would be a Mac, but the research I've done thus far puts them a bit out of my price range. Anybody got a suggestion for good machines in the $500-$750 range? I've already got a monitor, keyboard, and other peripherals. Thanks in advance.

Can't go wrong with a cheap HP from Walmart. Depends on what you are gonna use the computer for.

Yeah, got myself a cheap HP. Got it from Best Buy, though. I'll be doing the same things with this one that I was doing with the old one: Surfing the web, writing, and working on iffy art. Biggest flaw so far: the damned thing has Vista on it. Haven't had it a week yet, and there have already been several instances of my wanting to smash the crap out of it.

You may all laugh derisively now.
